My Intention is My Purpose

I spend a lot of time wondering what my purpose is and trying to measure whether or not I am fulfilling it. Over time, I came to the conclusion (made by a combination of personal experience and some advice from peers I would like to call my friends) that my intention is my purpose and I am fulfilling it if my actions align with said intended purpose.

Another shot at digital art by me! 🙂

I am in no way saying that this is the ultimate truth, but I do like the theory that our purpose can be self-proclaimed and, if needed, changed or altered. For myself, I tend to get stuck on one path that I feel needs to be followed to please others and or myself…but I think that is an unhealthy way of approaching the entirety of your life.

Sure, it is important to take into consideration those around you and their thoughts and advice…but in the long run if your soul/spirit does not resinate with your “purpose” then it will be like walking on broken glass fulfilling it. Of course, even a self chosen path will have it’s challenges and hardships, but they will be able to be endured becuase you have self-motivation and understanding of why you are willing to fight for your purpose.

So, once we come to the conclusion that your intention is your purpose…then what? Well, first it’s finding out what your intention is. An intention is an end goal, a target, and calculation of how you chose your actions, create your plans, and how you approach almost anything whether it’s concious or not.

To give an example, my personal intention for my overall journey is to be kind, to be a reason behind a few deep bellied laughs, to provide a safe haven to those I care about, and to show myself and others that a healthy and well rounded lifestyle is possible as a normal, everyday human.

Next, having intention is great but it is nothing without action to back it up. Fulfilling your puprose is not going to be an easy and clear cut journey…but being mindful on what actions and plans you can make would help you stay on route to feeling accomplished in your personal adventure.

So for me, it would be listening to what people say to me, paying close attention to detail on what is going on around me, eating decently, paying attention to my emotions and acknowledge them before they acknowledge me, and sharing my personal journey right here for you to read.

Perhaps this personal revelation will not apply to all but maybe to some. If you have anything to add, please leave a comment, I would love to hear your take on this topic. But aside from that, I think that is all I have to say tonight. I hope you all have a great night and I will talk to you soon. 🙂
